We have been enjoying the concerts at the Ching's now for over 4 years. We actually met carpooling to one and were married two years later. We have always experienced the house concerts at the Ching's as a community gathering where folks can enjoy each others company through sharing the simple pleasures of good food and good music. We've felt particularly encouraged to attend these concerts because we know that our entire donation supports the artist. Many of the CDs that we own have been bought directly from the artist at these concerts because we've enjoyed the music and are so happy to continue doing so.
The Ching's are quite inspiring when it come to their lifestyle of conservation which is very apparent at these house concerts: we don't eat off of disposable plates or drink from disposable cups or use disposable napkins; there is a special container for composting, as well as recycle bins. They've also installed special low water volume toilets and provided bottled drinking water. It is clear to us that they are all about low impact to the environment.
We usually are among the first to arrive at a concert and there Greg is, directing us where to park on his property so that there is no parking on the road. More and more of us have been carpooling it seems: at the Justice Center on Canyon Blvd many folks meet to get into fewer cars to go up the canyon to the concert. It really is a community gathering that we look forward to being able to continue attending. We enjoy being in a clean environment among friends, enjoying live music in a really intimate setting. That is something that is so hard to find nowadays. Many of our most enjoyable memories of life here in Boulder include memories of enjoying the music and friendship at the Ching's house concerts. We look forward to adding more memories in the future.
