Letters of Support

Asnin Letter

January 18, 2007

This letter is in support of our neighbors, the Chings, who have generously provided this area with a positive cultural event, by giving occassional house concerts, and offering their home as place for this social gathering.  We would therefore like to respond to docket ZON-06-075 specifically.

I have lived on Aspen Meadows Rd since 1972, and my wife has been here for 24 years.  Our home is about 2 lots west of the Ching home, across the street.  In that time we have gone to perhaps 5 or 6 concerts.  In all cases, we were encouraged to walk over, and not cause problems with parked cars on the side street.  And to keep our conversation down on the way over.  We gladly complied, finding it pleasant, in fact sort of old fashioned to walk home afterward under moonlite or with a flashlite.  When in the Ching home, the feeling was one of a social gathering or party of friends, with entertainment provided for our enjoyment.  We would give donations to the artists, and partake of a potluck dinner, which my wife would contribute to, while the Chings and others supplied a wonderful feast.

On those times when we did not attend a concert, there has never been any problem with music or noise emanating from the Chings - as their place is very well insulated.  And we have not been bothered by any increase in traffic on our subdivision road.

In summary, we believe what the Chings have brought to our community has been without question positive, and has helped bind the neighbors into a friendly collection of families and individuals.  We have been quite surprised that there have been any complaints against what they have generously given this neighborhood.

Sincerely,Scott Asnin & Rachel Bos, 330 Aspen Meadows Rd, Nederland, 80466
