Public hearing on concert regulations
March 13, 2008
BOULDER — County commissioners have scheduled a 5 p.m. public hearing today for people who want to comment on proposed "house concert" regulations.
The proposed amendments to the Boulder County Land Use Code would apply to concerts at homes in unincorporated Boulder County attended by 25 or more people, when a fee is solicited to pay for the musicians or other expenses.
The regulations also would apply to other types of "home events" involving 25 or more people assembled at a home for a product-sales event.
Among the proposed provisions: House concerts and other home events couldn't happen more often than 12 times a year at any residence; no such events could occur before 9 a.m. or after 11 p.m.; none could last longer than six consecutive hours; and all visitors' vehicles would have to be parked on the host's property or in permitted on-street parking spaces.
Tonight's public hearing is to be held on the third floor of the Boulder County Courthouse, 1325 Pearl St., Boulder.
